UBER Hack Puts Users' Travel History at Risk
An apparent security breach at online taxi service Uber led to thousands of logins going up for sale on the dark web, sometimes for as little as $1. Data being sold includes usernames, passwords, past trip information, user phone numbers, and partial credit card information. Here’s what bears are saying:
-
“Can they still do surge pricing when they only have two customers left?”Alice Rothman – Librarian
-
“Picked up at 2am… dropped off at 8am… this is going to be tough to explain.”Stan Lytwyn – Blogger
-
“If they keep leaving database keys on github, I’m going to start leaving presents in their backseats”Saul Berenstein – Cheese Taster
